Christine Ross

Christine Ross creates surrealist figurative paintings that examine identity, transformation, and the strange experience of becoming oneself. Through painting, she documents the intimate process of meeting herself for the first time at nearly forty.
After a successful 15-year career as a power engineer in the oil and gas industry, she chose to pursue her passion for art and transition into a full-time artistic practice. She currently lives and works in Zapopan, Mexico, where she is fully dedicated to her artistic career.
Her most recent exhibition, "Duality", was presented at the prestigious Universidad Panamericana in Guadalajara. Following the exhibition, one of Ross’s works was donated to the university and became part of its permanent art collection, marking an important milestone in the institutional recognition of her practice.
Her practice is primarily rooted in acrylic painting, although in previous bodies of work she has also incorporated materials such as clay, plaster, handmade paper, and natural fibers. This diversity of techniques enriches her visual language, adding texture, depth, and emotional resonance to her work.

Christine Ross crea pinturas figurativas surrealistas que exploran la identidad, la transformación y la extraña experiencia de convertirse en uno mismo. A través de la pintura, documenta el proceso íntimo de encontrarse consigo misma por primera vez, cerca de cumplir los cuarenta años.
Después de una exitosa carrera de 15 años como ingeniera de procesos energéticos en la industria del petróleo y el gas, decidió seguir su pasión por el arte y dedicarse de tiempo completo a su práctica artística. Actualmente vive y trabaja en Zapopan, México, donde está plenamente enfocada en el desarrollo de su carrera artística.
Su exposición más reciente, "Duality", fue presentada en la prestigiosa Universidad Panamericana de Guadalajara. Al finalizar la exposición, una de las obras de Ross fue donada a la universidad y pasó a formar parte de su colección de arte permanente, lo que representa un importante hito en el reconocimiento institucional de su práctica artística.
Su práctica se centra principalmente en la pintura acrílica, aunque en etapas anteriores también ha incorporado materiales como arcilla, yeso, papel hecho a mano y fibras naturales. Esta diversidad de técnicas enriquece su lenguaje visual y aporta textura, profundidad y resonancia emocional a su obra.
