Can I Sit There? explores the instability of belonging somewhere while simultaneously questioning whether that place was ever truly ours. The work considers what happens when identity becomes tied to a place, a career, a relationship, or an expectation we’ve worked hard to reach, only to discover that belonging isn’t always guaranteed by achievement.
Sometimes the most unsettling moment isn’t losing our place, but realizing that the place we fought so hard to occupy may no longer fit who we’ve become.
